Teacher Academies

Building SPEED materials are disseminated through Teacher Academies, which are hosted by a college or university and held near race tracks. Up to 40 math, physics and/or physical science teachers will be selected to attend each academy through a formal application and selection process. Preference will be given to schools that send a team consisting of one math and one science teacher and that exhibit a strong committment to using the materials in the classroom during the upcoming year. Academy formats vary according to local need, but are generally one to one-and-a-half days.
